( dirk & john | action log with annie )
[ He never thought hanging out and chillin' with his sorta (not really) ecto-sister and an orange sprite version of his best bro on an awesome battle ship would be exhausting. It was fun and enjoyable, everything he ever dreamed of doing in case he was ever "shipwrecked" and stranded with his chums. Heck, hanging out with his internet friends was something John would never tire of! It was definitely not something that happened everyday. Not for him.
Though the part with overseeing proper conduct on the ship was rather getting on his nerves. If looking after Casey wasn't enough, then a whole group of consort colonies was too big of a job to handle with just three kids. If John had to describe his day it'd be filled with the continuous melody of nak-nak-naks and attempts at preventing the salamanders from farming the very metal that everyone stood on. Even Jade would get frustrated and had to warp them back to LOWAS every so often so they could habitually cultivate on more familiar soil. They all also had a bad tendency of looking downwards from the starboard into the sea of time and space continuum, and he didn't want to chance the possibility of a reptilian and salamander downpour.
Yes, just another day on the metallic space ship.
So thank God for Nanna. Herlethal cookies kept many of them distracted, which would be one of those times John would catch up on his sleep and take a nice nap. For five minutes. Maybe ten...
Thirty...
An hour. Where he would drift off deep into his subconscious and straight into the dream bubbles. Which was a thing that was happening right now. And there he was, sleeping in his very own room just like before he woke up on his 13th birthday, the state of his home just like it had been pre-apocalypse and not cruelly demolished by black little imps. Gosh, he sure is sleeping soundly there. Not even a canon ball would probably wake him up. ]

Maybe he really did have to chain her down after all.
So, heading toward the direction in which he saw Roxy disappear towards would be the abyss. He was better determined to keep away from that shit since going further in would only mean seeing horror, but right now there were priorities at hand. If things got too bad he'll probably have to turn back, but as of right now he will do what he can. Only, when he did enter into this weird void it wasn't anything he was expecting.
What the fuck?
It was more like navigating through worlds, or something like that since it wasn't actually a world or anything. A bunch of places? Whatever. He doesn't really have time to make up a proper metaphor for what he is seeing.
And then, during this adventure he somehow enters into what seems to be a room.
A room with a sleeping boy on the bed.
....................... ]
Hey. Wake up, yo.
[ It was true that Dirk didn't exactly have a good reason to be waking him but he certainly didn't look like any sort of worshiped mascot of Derse or Prospit. He needed to figure out where Roxy was but somehow after seeing this he figured it would be okay to leave her alone for just a little while-- no sign horror yet.
So, wanting some answers he was definitely not going to let this opportunity pass. He doesn't actually make a gesture to shake him or anything but he does lightly kick at the leg of the bed. C'mon boy, how heavy a sleeper are you?
...
That's a lot of shitty movies by the way. ]

Do you know what time it is? Well, it doesn't matter but heck there is an imaginary party going on and you are missing it. ]
...
[ He doesn't really say anymore, but he doesn't have time to wait for sleeping beauty to wake up on his own.
So that's right.
He's gonna do it.
Prepare yourself.
He reaches over and gives him a good shake, and by good we mean pretty hard. He stops after a few seconds but he can keep going, so rise and shine John. Get the fuck up. ]

Ugh... Dad, what the heck???
[ Just five more minutes- Wuh, what. Wait a minute. That's not Dad...
...Oh. Right.
John rubs the eyes behind his glasses just to make sure he wasn't still dreaming. Aaaand, nope. Weird and possibly creepy stranger still there and staring at him. ]
Um... hi? Or, wait, that's not it. What are you doing in my room?
no subject
[ .......
But... well, he doesn't seem very coherent. And he was rambling a bit now so it was time to stop and get to the point in question about this weird discovery. Again, he can worry about Roxy later. ]
Either way, walking into a strangers room like this is a bit unreasonable from my perspective as well, not just yours. It isn't how the abyss works, or it's not how we expected it to. I was hoping you would be the one to explain this to me.
no subject
Huh, I can't say I've seen a girl around, much less a sleep walking one at that. And I am not sure what to explain, really! Because to be honest... my room looked a lot more dirty, and completely ravaged apart.
[ As soon as he says that, the walls around them fade and warp into an appearance John was all too familiar with seeing. Welp, there go his perfect posters. How many times must he say goodbye? ]
no subject
Just... like that. Actually.

.......................................... ]
What the fuck? [ Okay. ] Now if you said you did see her drunk ass sitting by the side of the door would she materialize? I fail to see how this is a thing that's happening.
no subject
[ And there he goes. John tries to imagine some girl, who may or may not be sleeping, sitting around in his room, his brow wrinkled impressively as he does so.
Concentrate... concentrate....... concentrate.........
Bzt bzzt! Psychic mind summoning failed. ]
Hmm... nope. As disappointing as it is, I do not think I possess any summony psychic powers, so your friend is probably still out there somewhere. Sorry!
[ He gets up from the bed and starts walking around his room as if seeing it for the first time. Man, it felt like ages since he was last in his own home. ]
But I think I'm starting to get what's going on.
no subject
Yeah? And what would that be?
no subject
[ John paces around in a sort of wavy circle as he speaks, waving his hands as if to express his statements more animatedly. He was just as confused as ever, but if he were to take Jade's word for things, some things were starting to click into place. ]
So I guess this must be one of those informative naps Jade was talking about! So are you like from the future? Are you here to tell me the things to come?
[ Kid's looking pretty excited here. Don't disappoint him! ]
no subject
[ What. Why is he so hard to follow? He didn't look like he was lying though, so that just made it even harder.
... And informative naps?
Oh. ]
Sorry to disappoint but I'm not a Prospit dreamer so there's none of that prognostication here. I can't tell you anything that's worth knowing. [ But what does that make him? Clearly he's expecting some sort of prophecy nap. And he knew those trademark buckteeth, but this was definitely not Jake, he knew that much. Oh, and let's not forget that he's obviously younger. ] What's your name?
no subject
Hmm, well, that's okay! That is a bit of a let down. But I suppose that makes us even since I am probably just as confused as you are.
[ He strokes his chin as if to ponder on the mysteries of life and where he was now and why he was with this (lamely) shaded stranger, but decided to let go of it for now. If only Jade was here... ]
Oh, and I'm John! Nice to meet you. Or dream about you. Either way.
[ He chuckles, even now still noting how dumb looking those shades looked. Didn't Dave wear a pair like those? Hmm. ]
no subject
It's Dirk. But if you can't answer me this would have to stay a mystery until later. Where did you say you were? Or rather, is there a reason for you being here? [ He's not even sure if asking questions would be useful, but he's doing it anyways.
But if he really can't give him any good answers he might have to give up. ]
